This summer, Claud will open up for boygenius before playing headlining shows in the fall. Being on set with Grace was a dream come true because I got to work with my favorite comedian and a good friend all at once.” Check out the clip below. We quickly became friends and have been wanting to collaborate for a while, and I wrote this video concept with her in mind. I was a big fan of her comedy, and I watched every single video she posted. We met on the internet early in the pandemic. The artist continued, “The video wouldn’t have been the same without my co-star, Grace Kuhlenschmidt. This was my first time directing, which was scary, but came easily because my vision for this song was so strong.” Artist: Broken Social Scene at Thalia Hall, Chicago, IL, USALIVE HERE. The song’s details and specificity came straight from me, so it only felt natural to write and direct the music video too. Even as I was writing ‘Every Fucking Time’ I had flashes of what I wanted the music video to look like. “It was hot and sticky in New York, so naturally I was spending a lot of time at home, overthinking everything… and this song was born. /rebates/2fevent-tickets2fevent2fevent2fbroken-social-scene-tickets-thalia-hall-chicago-il-10-10-2022-5134183&. “I wrote ‘Every Fucking Time’ two summers ago,” Claud recalled in a statement. It has the sort of easy listening instrumental set to angsty lyrics that would fit right in on Avril Lavigne’s Let Go. “Every Fucking Time” begins with melancholy acoustic guitar as Claud looks back on a fraught relationship - if you can’t agree on the merits of Regina Spektor, how are you going to make it? “I can’t believe it when you say you love me/ ‘Cause with you, there’s always something,” our former Artist of the Month sings. A podcast on the history of philosophical thought. 6760 S Stony Island Avenue, Chicago Illinois. I am a huge fan of Theaster and his community rehabilitation based art projects, and the Stoney Island State Savings bank is a perfect example of his work. The artist has beautifully transformed an old bank into a community center for the arts. * Finally I’d recommend going to visit Theaster Gates’ Stony Island Community Center. Coincidentally the childhood home of Earnest Hemingway is also on the same same block. These are private homes that people live in but you can stroll the neighborhood and take in the various designs. It’s a rare opportunity to visit nearly a dozen of the architect’s early work all in one concentrated area. * My second recommendation is to visit the Frank Lloyd Wright houses in the historic Oak Park neighborhood. Artists like the Smashing Pumpkins, Wilco, and Andrew Bird came out of these clubs and there are many others with less notoriety that are just as good performing week in and week out. Chicago is different from other cosmopolitan cities in that it doesn’t have great nightclubs, but it does have small bars that showcase incredible music every night of the week. These clubs include the Metro, Schubas, the Hideout, Thalia Hall, and the Green Mill. My first recommendation is to discover the small music clubs and bars that make Chicago’s music scene great. * My insider tip for the city is to avoid the well-worn tourist trail of Michigan Avenue and much of downtown and delve into the more interesting, and relatively unknown, aspects of Chicago.
